Mozilla Firefox 3.5 now Gold – openSUSE 11.1

Here’s a snip from www.firefox.com:
What’s New in Firefox 3.5

Firefox 3.5 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform, which has been under development for the past year. Firefox 3.5 offers many changes over the previous version, supporting new web technologies, improving performance and ease of use. Some of the notable features are:
* Available in more than 70 languages. (Get your local version!)
* Support for the HTML5

As always openSUSE gives you access to these new versions quickly through their build service.

You can install using (for 11.1)

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.1/ Firefox
sudo zypper mr -r Firefox
sudo zypper up -r Firefox

Enjoy..

Ben, I follow your instruccion but in the last command I get the following:
    # zypper up -r Firefox
Obteniendo los datos del repositorio…(getting the information from repository)
Leyendo los paquetes instalados… (reading the install packages)
No hay nada que hacer…..(Nothing to do)
    #

I have tried, in to diferrente OpenSuse 11.1 (64 bit) and in bothe get the same error.

    Thanks

    Correction,

“I have tried, in two different OpenSuse 11.1 (64 bit) and in both get the same error.”

    Thanks

I added the repository using yast (Software repositories -> Add -> Comunity…) and there was no update at first. Then I changed the repo priority from 99 (default) to 15 (that is: I give a higher priority to mozilla repository), went to Install/uninstall software -> Package -> All packages -> Update if newer version is available and now I’m using 3.5 without problems.

Thanks RGB, I did what you said and now I’m using Firefox 3.5 perfectly.

This will change the prio without using yast:
    # zypper mr -p 15 Firefox
